Bible Journaling

Watercolor Hummingbird Tutorial- With A Free Printable!

I just love hummingbirds, don’t you? They are so beautiful and such amazing little creatures.

So for today’s tutorial I decided to Bible journal Matthew 6:25-26 which says: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

This verse is the perfect Bible journaling opportunity to paint a bird or hummingbird!

I have a hard time free-handing animals, including birds, so I took to my iPad first to draw out a sketch that I could then use as a guide for painting it in my Bible. (The benefit of the iPad is that I can mess up and redo it as many times as needed haha).

I am giving you this little hummingbird sketch for free so that you can use it to create your own Bible journaling!

There are two sizes of the hummingbird, one larger, which I used, and one smaller that will fit in the 2” margin. Use your creativity and create in a way that is meaningful to you!
