Hi! It has been a while since my last blog post. If you didn’t know, I decided to scale back on blog posts to allow me to be more present with my family. HOWEVER, I am still releasing new tutorials on YouTube pretty much every week! So, if you haven’t subscribed to my YouTube channel yet, you totally should do that! The reason I am popping on here today is to make it easier to get the free printable that goes with the latest tutorial on YouTube!

Today’s tutorial (above) is on painting an olive branch! It’s so pretty and simple to do! This is something that you can totally freehand if you are comfortable with that, but I find that many of us find it helpful to have a guide. So I’m including my olive branch sketch here for free! I hope that it will help to encourage you to give it a shot.

I simply printed out the printable, placed it under the Bible page I wanted to work on (Psalm 52 8:9), and colored in the lines with watercolor. You could easily do this with colored pencils, acrylics, etc.! Afterwards, I outlined my painting with thin messy lines to add a little something extra- You could do this beforehand with a waterproof pen (such as micron pens) or skip the outline altogether.

I only used two watercolor colors from my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set– Olive green and brown (raw umber).

Another thing to note- You can totally play around with the scale percentage that you print the freebie out at. Print it larger to fit a larger bible, or smaller to fit a smaller bible. For reference, I used the ESV Single Column Journaling Bible. I did go over the text just slightly for this page, but I can still read it all. If you don’t want to go over the text, you can move the printable guide over slightly compared to mine, or again, print it off at a smaller scale percentage.

And as always, you can absolutely do this outside of your Bible, use a separate journal/notebook, or you can utilize the free olive branch printable as a coloring sheet!

Last thing, I never prep my pages with the supplies I use, I have no bleed-through issues!

So, I hope that you enjoy the olive branch tutorial and free printable! Providing these things to you brings me a lot of joy, and I pray that it can help you in your Bible journaling journey and help grow your relationship with Christ!

Much love and many blessings, Jenna.
